Viewing Notes

No way I was gonna miss this midnight screening at MBT; it’s been on my big screen bucket list since the first time I viewed it back in ‘99. I may have an irrational love for this film. Since ‘99 I’ve bounced back and forth between this and Holy Mountain as being my favorite Jodorowsky film. Right now this is my favorite but now I want to revisit Holy Mountain.

Still amazes me how the movie plays out with nearly two separate films placed into this single journey of man looking for validation and ultimately redemption. The first half is simply incredible. If not for the length and some of the tedium in the second half I could probably view this movie every week and not tire of it.
