I recently saw a list of “Top 50 Horror Movies You Should See Before You Die” and this was listed. I remember hearing about it and while it’s a thriller of a film, it has no business being on a horror movie list.
It’s a movie from the Netherlands where a guy and his girlfriend are on a trip and during a stop at a rest station she goes missing.
I have to say, the first half of this movie bored the shit out of me. I didn’t find the couple that compelling and it takes too long to get to the kidnapping and point of the movie.
The second half, on the other hand was really good. The intertwining stories between the man still searching for his GF three years after the fact and the man who took her was really compelling.
While I don’t think this movie is truly deserving of the accolades it’s gotten, it’s a well done movie. Glad I watched it but nothing there that I feel I would revisit.
