S&Man (also known as Sandman) is a 2006 pseudo-documentary film that examines the underground subculture of horror films. It combines real interviews with indie horror film makers and a scripted plot that does not immediately come into focus until the second half of the film.

I actually knew little about this going in so it was a great surprise to me. I did figure out the “twist” but it works for me. Read a lot of disappointments about how it was obvious and/or ham fisted but I thought the performances carry it and I love the idea of the overall story and I think it mostly works.
