Viewing Notes

PROMETHEUS is not an ALIEN prequel.

Get that out of your brain before watching this. There are elements of the world Ripley inhabits, but don’t expect any direct tie-ins to Ridley Scott’s masterpiece.

PROMETHEUS is a self-contained story, however all questions brought up are not answered. Just sit back, enjoy the amazing world building and pulpy science fiction disguised as thought provoking commentary of our existence.

I had a lot of fun with this film and completely welcome Ridley Scott back to Science Fiction. This film is far from perfect, as with most Ridley Scott theatrical cuts, there seems some meat has been left on the cutting room floor. I expect a superior Director’s Cut will solve some people’s gripes.

As for me, I loved it and look forward to seeing it again.
