Overview

A city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky—shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Viewing Notes

Even though it felt like Red Dawn Light, I still enjoyed it. Is it preposterous? Certainly, just like the original was. It’s still a fun watch and it still runs the patriotism up the flag. You really can’t help but think “America, fuck yeah!” during the film (both in the intended ironic sense and the literal).

I liked the change to a more urban setting and Hemsworth acquits himself well enough to make it work. There are also enough changes to the original plot to keep it from being a simple repetitious remake.

I honestly would’ve liked a longer running time on this so they could have done more character development. I really feel like that’s the major difference between the original and this remake.
