Viewing Notes

I liked this film a lot, probably in the top third of Tarantino films for me. It felt similar to Kill Bill Volume One in terms of its narrative structure and storyline, but is visually more straightforward than most of Tarantino’s work.

While I’ve heard a lot of praise for Samuel L. Jackson’s performance (which is great), Christoph Waltz really steals the show for the first two thirds of the film. It’s as if he were born specifically to deliver Tarantino’s dialogue.

There are some great cameos and minor roles played by great actors and previous QT film vets throughout the film (I won’t spoil any of them) that it’s a veritable who’s who.

I’ll definitely be revisiting this movie again, though it won’t displace Kill Bill Vol. 1 as my favorite Tarantino film. Watching Waltz work also makes me want to revisit Inglourious Basterds as well, specifically for his performance.
