Viewing Notes

My first Cecil B. DeMille film and what a doozy! One of Jay’s movies, we watched after an evening of eating pizza, drinking beer and working on MovieLogr.

The dialogue is witty and humorous, with an especially great performance by Roland Young in the bachelor sidekick role.

The crazy final act, involving a costume party on board a moored zeppelin (yes, you read that right), is awesome spectacle if unexpected. There are some amazing costumes worn during the masked ball. I’d loved to have seen what those scenes looked like in color when they were filming.
