A mostly harmless bit of fun, with plenty of signature Walter Hill stuff, for better and worse. It’s pretty light on plot but the action is decent and the dialogue is humorous at times.
The Korean-American cop role felt pretty shallow, more of a mechanism to move the plot along quickly. The film could have, and should have, spent more time building character relationships. Most of them, including the bad guys, were very one dimensional, which kept me from becoming more involved in the story.
It’s good to see Walter Hill’s name on a film in theaters again even though I feel the film won’t fare too well at the box office.
