Probably the most haunting of the three movies that form Park’s Vengeance trilogy. This was the third night, and third movie, of Denver Film Society’s Park Chan-Wook Vengeance trilogy retrospective in preparation for an advance screening of Stoker later in the week.
I’ve seen Lady Vengeance, aka Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, twice before, but sleepiness was a factor both times, so it was nice to view this in a theater.
This was the Fade to White version, where in the final act, the color of the film fades away to black and white. It happens so naturally that you don’t even notice it if you’re not paying attention.
