Second time I’ve watched this. Bogart plays a hard as nails criminal with a soft spot and it’s really fun to watch him turn moods on a dime. Such a great actor.
Ida Lupino gets first billing though, and for good reason. She really sizzles on-screen, such a beautiful actress with a lot of talent. Of the small handful of movies I’ve seen starring Lupino, this is probably my favorite.
