Viewing Notes
Really strong performances by the two leads and some great bare knuckle boxing action sequences really elevated this movie for me. I liked it a lot though it’s not without its faults.
The only two things that bothered me, and these are pretty nitpicky, are that the male lead obviously wasn’t a smoker (he held the cigarette very oddly; no smoker would hold a cigarette that way); and the female boxer’s bruise makeup, while good in terms of coloration, for the most part lacked any sort of realistic swelling, etc.
Like I said, pretty nitpicky, but also pretty obvious stuff since both are predominant throughout the film.
Still, great movie, well worth a watch.
