Viewing Notes

Part of my unofficial Joan Crawford project, I started out not liking the movie much, mainly due to Crawford playing an unconvincing dancing girl in a carny, but from there on it just gets better and better.

Sidney Greenstreet is particularly excellent in this. His sheriff is so insidiously evil that you seriously loathe and hate him. Perhaps his best performance I’ve seen.
