Viewing Notes

I’ve seen this movie countless times and I still get a huge kick out of the witty, biting dialogue and Bogart’s bravado tough guy performance. Mary Astor gets historically overshadowed by the male stars, but she’s excellent in this film, as is the always great Elisha Cook.

You can’t watch this and not immediately think of Ren and Stimpy when you hear Peter Lorre’s lines.

Watched with my son for the first time. I’m not sure he appreciated it as much as I hoped he would.
