A bizarre film that feels like it’s based on folklore, Borgman doesn’t ever explain what’s going on. I’m not sure you even need to know however, as the film plays out as a scathing social commentary in a similar way to Haneke’s Funny Games. And if you know that movie at all, then you know how badly things are going to turn out here. One of my top films of the fest.
