Patrick lays comatose in a small private hospital, his only action being his involuntary spitting. When a pretty young nurse, just separated from her husband, begins work at the hospital, she senses that Patrick is communicating with her, and he seems to be using his psychic powers to manipulate events in her life.

My first movie on the fourth day of the festival was my first miss. Patrick, a remake of the ‘70s Aussie telekinesis thriller has all the parts present, but doesn’t assemble them in a way that does anything except ape movies of the past. To make it worse, the score was overbearing and obtrusive, taking a lot away from what was actually onscreen. Plenty of jump scares, but very few of them are all that effective.
