I originally tried to watch this while in St. Louis during my mom’s brain surgery (that sounds really terrible doesn’t it?) but the connection in the hospital just wasn’t up to the task of streaming it via Netflix.
I had been wanting to watch this movie for a really long time, and I have no idea why I waited so long.
It’s a terrific, mystery crime movie, well done in every aspect. The plot twists are excellent right up until the, literally, very end.
I’m a big fan of Clouzot’s Wages of Fear, so I guess it’s no surprise that I’d like Diabolique so much. I’m going to have to make an effort to see more of his films now.
Vera Clouzot, the director’s real-life wife, is quite beautiful in this film, though it’s easy to overlook it until close to the end of the movie.
