Jacques Mesrine, a loyal son and dedicated soldier, is back home and living with his parents after serving in the Algerian War. Soon he is seduced by the neon glamour of sixties Paris and the easy money it presents. Mentored by Guido, Mesrine turns his back on middle class law-abiding and soon moves swiftly up the criminal ladder.

A great French crime drama. This is part one of two. Watched this on NWI and the hi-def stream looked great. Can’t wait for part two, which comes to NWI soon.

I keep hearing comparisons to The Godfather. Not even close stylistically, or really even with the subject matter. However, it’s still a well-filmed and acted movie. I really liked the opening scene; it captures the spirit of the rest of the film very well.
