Viewing Notes

After recently watching Barbara, I decided I’d watch just about anything with Nina Hoss in it. She’s not nearly as good in We Are The Night as she is in Barbara, but I still enjoyed both her and the movie.

We Are The Night has some influences, Near Dark being one of the more obvious, but still charts its own course. It wobbles over the line into outlandishness here and there, and at other times ventures into darker territory, but mostly manages to wind its way between the two.

While it had the potential to be a bit better, and darker, it was still a fun evening’s entertainment.
