Viewing Notes

Another movie I wanted to like more than I ended up doing so, but it was still well done and enjoyable (if watching people get murdered can be termed enjoyable). The central premise has a lot to do with never being satisfied and the old adage of “careful what you wish for.”

The dissatisfaction theme plays out against gorgeous cinematography and is shot in winter, hence a lot of white, both outdoors in snow and indoors in a pristine, yet vacuous, country mansion. Full of delusion and paranoia with spurts of some pretty horrific violence.

In the Q&A with the director and producer, it came out that the movie was shot over a period of four years. I didn’t notice any continuity errors at all, which is a miracle given the time frame.
