It’s Tsui Hark, so you’re either in or you’re not. As one would expect, this is pretty melodramatic with some fun, totally over-the-top action set pieces. Definitely originally done in 3D.

I’m guessing this is based on a real, historical event in China, but it’s so far removed from reality that it’s stretching it to call it historic in any way.
