The second in Rossellini’s War Trilogy. I’m generally not a fan of movies told through vignettes but Paisan is incredibly effective and the format suits the material very well. Some of the acting by non-actors is a bit clumsy but that’s easily overridden by the gritty realism of the stories and the location shooting.
