There are parts of this movie I really, really love: the actual fight scenes, the barracks scenes, the insertion stuff. I still hate the final village stuff and the scene establishing the bad guy, which is horribly rushed and one dimensional. I’m pretty sure Berg gives hand jobs to the entire U.S. military in his spare time given the amount of jingoism in both this and BATTLESHIP.
It’s so frustrating because the actual firefight scenes are so well done that it’s almost like two directors made this.
