Viewing Notes

Had some time while getting a cargo rack installed on my car at REI so I walked across the street and caught PERSONAL SHOPPER at the Boedecker Theater and the Dairy Arts Center. It’s about a 100 seat theater and was about half full of retirees which was pretty good for mid-day on a Friday.

I liked this movie a lot; Kristen Stewart does a great job with an odd, interesting character. She really captures the displacement and insecurity of the character and is by turns insecure, sexy, exhausted, mournful, horrified and frustrated. I love how the story just plays out with very little exposition, forcing you to engage and tease out what’s happening and get involved with this really complex character. Glad I saw this on the big screen and looking forward to revisiting at home in the future.
