Another I had fond memories of and has mostly held up. Weird that there was a six year gap between this and LICENSE TO KILL. The jump in quality is noticeable. This is an odd crossover film that introduces Judi Dench as M for the first time. There’s also a brief shot of the new MI-6 headquarters that plays such a big role in the most recent Bond films.
This film also marks the second appearance of Joe Don Baker in a Bond film. Only he and Maud Adams have shown up twice as different characters in all the Bond films I’ve watched so far. This is also the first Bond film where Maurice Binder didn’t do the title sequences.
And finally, Minnie Driver makes a weird cameo appearance as a screechy Russian nightclub singer!
