Viewing Notes

Gender politics aside, this wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. That said, it felt pretty mediocre, especially given the cast. Had to be an interesting role for Rodriguez to play though. Definitely some faint echoes of JOHNNY HANDSOME in the plot, a movie I need to revisit.

I love a lot of Walter Hill’s earlier work but his more recent stuff feels generic and lost. It makes me wonder how he chooses his directorial projects these days, and why.
