Overview

The epic saga continues as Luke Skywalker, in hopes of defeating the evil Galactic Empire, learns the ways of the Jedi from aging master Yoda. But Darth Vader is more determined than ever to capture Luke. Meanwhile, rebel leader Princess Leia, cocky Han Solo, Chewbacca, and droids C-3PO and R2-D2 are thrown into various stages of capture, betrayal and despair.

Viewing Notes

Fun to watch all these in chronological order because the first three films (EPs I-III) actually do a good job of referencing the original trio and set up some stuff that pays off in these retroactively.

Interesting too how much cleaner everything is in this versus STAR WARS. They obviously had a bigger budget and things were just slicker and more Hollywood in this film while still retaining some of the grittiness from the first.

Also great reminder that Leia was leading the rebels on Hoth since she continues to serve in that role, but at a higher (?) rank, in THE FORCE AWAKENS. Watching these films, its hard to believe she’s dead now.
