Viewing Notes

Maybe my favorite of all the sequels! Not sure how it goes from being set in what appeared to be the East Coast in the previous few films to definitely the Louisiana Bayou in this final film but I like that it picks right up where the last one left off in the swamps.

This one probably has the most action (if you can describe anything a slow moving mummy does as action) and the locale is great even though it feels completely foreign to have a mummy in the Louisiana swamps!

I’m really struck by the continuity between all five of the films, to the point where this is a huge expository flashback sequence in each that summarizes everything that led up to that point in the current film. Feels very serialized which perhaps was in keeping with the cliffhanger serials of the day.
