Shot as a modern noir instead of trying to replicate the look and feel of a historic noir, even though it’s set in 1936. I understand what the director was going for but it still seems like a missed opportunity to shoot in scope. Also suffered from a lack of establishing and wide angle shots. Guessing that was because of the difficulty in getting long takes with any sort of authenticity for the time period on such a small budget.
That said, the actors were all great. I especially liked the male and female leads who had great chemistry.
