This came out a few months before Hitchcock’s REAR WINDOW, which has a similar plot and setup. After watching, it’s easy to see why this faded away and REAR WINDOW didn’t.
Great movie right up until the very end, which fails to resolve much of anything and almost completely fails to vindicate Stanwyck’s character.
Stanwyck gets gaslighted so hard from start to finish.
