Viewing Notes

This relatively newly restored, colorized version with a new soundtrack from Air is quite good. I’ve only ever seen the black and white version.

For the longest time they thought all original colorized versions were destroyed. This version was painstakingly put together from individual film frames recovered from a badly damaged print where the sides had hardened together. Luckily most of the actual frames were fine. Where frames were missing they used frames from a black and white print from the Méliès family and hand colored to match.
