If kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman who won’t have anything to do with you because of your race until she discovers you’re really of French-Spanish descent counts as a romance, then this is pretty romantic!
Setting aside the sexism and racism inherent in these types of films from the silent era, it’s pretty good. Valentino lights up the screen and Ayers is also great. I think parts of this were filmed at the Indiana Dunes along Lake Michigan.
