Fritz Lang’s classic is pretty amazing. It plays out a bit like a serial but in movie form and length, with some great twists and turns and a great final act. There’s some pretty iconic cinematography in this.
Also, really great acting by the two leads, Gerda Maurus as Sonya and Willy Fritsch as No. 326. Maurus, and Lien Deyers as Kitty, are both so beautiful it’s almost painful to watch them on screen. Germany in the ‘20s must have been something.
