Another re-teaming of Cheng Pei-Pei and Lo Lieh in the lead roles, with trusty supporting actor Cheng Lei showing up again as well. Lo Lieh plays an anti-hero wandering swordsman and eventually sparks fly between his character and Pei-Pei’s, which is actually what makes the film more interesting. They have great chemistry together and Lieh is actually good at playing a romantic lead.
The action scenes are mostly average with a couple of standouts (the battle at the creek being one). Also David Chiang shows up in a small supporting role.
