Viewing Notes

A shot-on-video rarity from the late ‘90s NYC scene, and one of the few to be directed by a woman. Tina Krause, better known as an actress in a boatload of Wave Productions films, was in attendance as well.

This is somewhat linear and marginally narrative, but very experimental. Ostensibly about a vampire but that really just serves as a minimal structure upon which to hang a more art-oriented approach to filmmaking. It’s a great snapshot of late ‘90s New York City and reminds me of Nick Zed’s work a decade earlier.
