Viewing Notes

This one’s a pretty different take on the Frankenstein monster and presents us with a thoroughly criminal and completely amoral Dr. Frankenstein. The first five minutes of this are crazy fun and such a signature scene from Terence Fisher.

I really like this story and Cushing turns in a great performance, as do Simon Ward and Veronica Carlson. Also, Freddie Jones is great as the monster. I didn’t realize he was Toby Jones’ father, but now that I know the resemblance makes it obvious.
