Viewing Notes

Went into this with no expectations or really even much background on the film or Jean Seberg. The directing felt pretty flat which took away from what could have been a compelling story. Stewart was great as Seberg, but it felt like her performance was clipped at times and maybe pieces were left on the cutting room floor.

The set and costume design, as well as hairstyling were all excellent though, and it’s well shot. Was happy to see both a female DP and editor on this.

Stewart continues to pick interesting roles that do a good job of highlighting her maturation as an actress even as the movies themselves often fail to find audiences.

I still think she and Pattinson are two of the best actors of their generation and if it took the TWILIGHT films to deliver them to this point, then I hold it was worth the pain!
