The frustrating thing about some of these late Showa-era films is they could be so much better if they’d had better budgets. Megalon and Jet Jaguar are both interesting but really don’t get enough to do. Plenty of stock destruction footage abounds so we never get to see Megalon physically stomping much at all.
All that being said there’s still fun to be had here. The four way battle between Gigan, Megalon, Jet Jaguar and Godzilla is crazy and fun. The dam destruction scene is great!
