A strange blend of rogue cop vs serial killer with some hallucinatory horrorish stuff in it that worked for me. I always like gritty, NYC movies from the 1970-80s time period and this one fits right in.
Oddly I think a lot of the supporting actors do a better job than any of the leads. They probably salvage the film on the acting side of things.
