Viewing Notes

Not quite as seedy and depraved as it sounds, but still some pretty fun horror from the Shaw Brothers, and one I’d never heard of before. The film wastes no time in getting down to business by inflicting a series of dehumanizing crimes against the main protagonist, Liu Miao Li, including a series of robberies, rape and forced prostitution. There’s some fun, gory, over-the-top practical effects as Liu Miao’s spirit exacts revenge against those who wronged her. It’s a buddhist movie!
