Overview
Vignettes weaving together the stories of six individuals in the old West at the end of the Civil War. Following the tales of a sharp-shooting songster, a wannabe bank robber, two weary traveling performers, a lone gold prospector, a woman traveling the West to an uncertain future, and a motley crew of strangers undertaking a carriage ride.

Viewing Notes
An interesting mix of sometimes nihilistic (realistic, existential?) stories of the American West in the, presumably, late 1800s. Some of them I really liked, such as ALL GOLD CANYON with Tom Waits, THE GIRL WHO GOT RATTLED, and the opening eponymous story THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS, while others were more inscrutable.
Still, it’s the Coen brothers so even their misses are better than most stuff out there.
I think this leaves A SERIOUS MAN as the only movie of theirs I haven’t seen.
