Viewing Notes
I guess the second time around the clichés and goofiness bothered me less and I was able to fully enjoy the action scenes, which are outstanding. This has one of the best choreographed car chase fight-within-a-car action scenes I’ve ever seen for instance.
Donnie Yen is excellent as one would expect but the real surprise here is Tian Jing. I’m sure she didn’t do all of her own stunt work but there’s plenty that have to be her and she pulls it off well. Not sure if she’s a trained martial artist or not but she makes you believe she is in this. I’d love to see her in more action-oriented stuff, or really anything.
