The second and final movie directed by Barkett, the first being THE AFTERMATH which I actually own on Blu-ray. It’d be great to have a Blu of this one too. According to the recorded remarks from Steve and his son, who is also featured in this film, they had a much bigger budget of one million to work with this time around.
Much like THE AFTERMATH, this is a great blend of ego project and blatant influences like INDIANA JONES. A lot of heart and passion obviously went into this. The money was obviously spent on miniatures work, set design and stop motion animation of the demon. Money spent on the acting? Yeah, not so much!
The extended, goofy shootout in the supermarket is pretty great as is all the sword and gun battles with the various cultists who look like grown up Jawas.
