Completely my kind of weird shit! The opening pre-credits scenes are unsettling and creepy as hell. The movie feels uneven at times but it’s all in service to the story and does a great job of tying the ancient mythological evil from the first scenes to your typical teens in peril horror, and then subverting it.
There are some really disturbing, unsettling scenes peppered throughout this and they catch you off guard. I knew it by its title which doesn’t really sell you on what the hell you’re truly in for. Glad Jay mentioned it and we ended up watching it.
