Viewing Notes

Was having issues with streaming stuff so took a break from FF@Home to watch my recently received Blu of this from VS.

This movie gets more and more bleak as it goes along, and when you think it might turn the corner it instead just continues to plunge into darkness. This is FUNNY GAMES level cynicism, if maybe less artful, well before FUNNY GAMES came along, but I’m here for it.

It’s disconcerting to watch ‘70s-era cynicism show up in a mid-80s movie. The cast is great too, especially the four college girls and the sheriff.
