Viewing Notes

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this. It definitely stands as a film that marks Cronenberg’s movie into films that aren’t as explicitly horror on the face of it, even though it still finds him exploring the concept of body horror. With the exception of a few scenes, that exploration is more psychological than physical in this case.

Jeremy Irons gives riveting performances as both twins and the deft editing and cinematography reinforce the conceit that we’re really watching two actors play two different roles.
