Viewing Notes
I rarely dig into the extras on discs but decided to watch the documentary on the making of NAKED LUNCH to get some more context into how it all unfolded. Was pleasantly surprised to see that Burroughs was involved and supported Cronenberg’s efforts to adapt his book into a film and that he was happy with the direction of it. Knowing that the film intentionally combines bits of Naked Lunch and the biography on Burroughs, Literary Outlaw, which I’ve also read, makes a lot more sense.
