Also known as, and released by Vinegar Syndrome under the title of, THE CANNIBAL MAN. I watched the longer, uncut Spanish version with Spanish dubs and English subs, though some bits had the English dubbed audio where the edits were made and no Spanish dub exists, presumably.
This was more brooding and unsettling than I was expecting with some very graphic and real scenes of cattle getting killed in a meat packing factory at the beginning to start things out.
The way Vincent Parra’s character Marcos falls into the ever escalating violence via an accidental killing of a cabbie while defending his girlfriend is chilling. This is just some average blue collar guy that goes down the wrong path, all triggered by a totally avoidable circumstance.
As things progress though, the way he continues to carry out murders of people closest to him leads you to believe the violence was there under the surface the whole time. What’s chilling is that that’s probably true of a lot of people.
An odd movie to end the night with!
