Grisly strangulations in London alert Nayland Smith of Scotland Yard to the possibility that fiendish Fu Manchu may not after all be dead, even though Smith witnessed his execution. A killer spray made from Tibetan berries seems to be involved and clues keep leading back to the Thames.

Finally tackling the Fu Manchu box set from Indicator I got before the holidays. This is the first of Christopher Lee’s five appearances as Fu Manchu. Despite all the yellow face, he still does a great job as this character, making him nicely sinister.
Nigel Green is great as Nayland Smith! I watched the original version which has some damage in reel 3 but is in the correct aspect ratio and not cropped to eliminate the damage. Apparently that’s how it was shown theatrically.
The disc also contains the theatrical version with a cropped and blown up reel 3; and the Super 8 version!
