Overview

Crimes of the Future is set in a future where sexually mature women appear to have been obliterated by a plague produced by the use of cosmetics. The film details the wanderings of Adrian Tripod, director of the dermatological clinic the House of Skin. Tripod seems at a loss following the disappearance of his mentor Antoine Rouge.

Viewing Notes

The final film on the DAVID CRONENBERG’S EARLY WORKS Blu-ray from Arrow finds him still experimenting with sound design to jarring effect. Unlike STEREO, this one is filmed in color. It seems concerned with the same thematic material as STEREO.

Even though I like this one less, between this and STEREO you really get a sense of where Cronenberg is about to be headed, but in a more commercial sense than these two films would have you believe.
