Overview
Claire is a lonely hairstylist who secretly murders and scalps her clients. When Olivia makes the well-intentioned mistake of asking Claire to style her hair for her wedding, she becomes dangerously obsessed, and her sanity starts to slip away with bloody consequences.

Viewing Notes
I like it when a short is expanded into a feature and it uses the short’s premise as a jumping off point rather than the central focus of the story.
THE STYLIST takes time but builds to a satisfyingly horrific conclusion.
My one complaint is that it still feels like it was shot as a short. Very economical with the practical effects, lots of collage scenes, etc. I understand this is a function of the film’s budget and it’s still a fine achievement. I’d love to see someone give Jill an opportunity to make another movie to see what else she can do.
